A full blueprint is valuable when the offer is clear enough to describe. If you cannot yet say who buys and why, a shorter market sounding often saves fee and frustration.
Signals you need sounding first
- Two co-founders describe different primary customers
- The offer changes every fortnight
- You have never spoken to someone who currently pays for a substitute
- A funding conversation is months away, but confusion is immediate
What sounding does not replace
It will not produce bank-ready financials or a complete operations chapter. It clarifies which claims deserve a longer writing engagement.
After the session
Take the written notes seriously. If weak claims remain, schedule interviews before you open a six-week blueprint. Plans written on unresolved demand become expensive fiction.
